Las Vegas

The Strip, and everything smarter than it.

Eighteen ways to sleep in Vegas: the Strip's serious suites, Nobu inside Caesars, a Waldorf with no casino floor at all, Fremont Street's rebuilt classics and a boutique off-Strip for people who came for the food. Some of these are cigar-friendly, which matters here.

All Lounges

The Strip

Wynn Las Vegas

3131 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$$ · Garden luxury · Grown-up service · Best pool complex

Steve Wynn built the Strip's quietest kind of grand: curved glass, gardens instead of gimmicks, staff who use your name. Large dark-wood rooms, floor-to-ceiling views. The service standard everything else is measured against.

Pip’s Tip The best pool complex on the Strip, and the service is grown-up rather than loud.

The Strip

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas

3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$ · All suites · Canal walk · Sprawling

Every room is a suite with a sunken living room, so you get space to actually live in rather than a box with a bed. Big, theatrical, easy to disappear into for three days.

Pip’s Tip Every room is a suite with a sunken living room, so you actually get space. Canal walk attached.

The Strip

Fontainebleau Las Vegas

2777 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$$ · New build · Blue and gold · Serious art collection

The newest big room on the Strip and the most confident one. Blue-and-gold interiors, a real art collection, a pool deck that stays civilised, and rooms among the largest in town.

Pip’s Tip Newest big room on the Strip. Blue and gold throughout, and the art collection is serious.

The Strip

Resorts World Las Vegas

3000 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$ · Eight Cigar Lounge on site · Three hotels in one · Pool complex

Three Hilton-family hotels share one address, and Eight Cigar Lounge is reason enough to stay: leather chairs, a walk-in humidor, a long whisky list. The north Strip's best-designed newcomer.

The Strip

Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace

3570 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$ · Japanese design · In-room Nobu service · Montecristo Cigar Bar downstairs

A calm teak-and-stone hotel tucked inside Caesars, with private check-in and in-room Nobu breakfast. Downstairs at Montecristo you can sit with a cigar and a glass of something old.

The Strip

Bellagio

3600 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$ · Fountains · Conservatory · Old-school glamour

Still the most graceful resort on the Strip. Fountain-view rooms are worth the upcharge, the conservatory changes with the season, and the Chihuly lobby ceiling has aged into a landmark.

The Strip

ARIA Resort & Casino

3730 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$ · Modern architecture · Tech-forward rooms · Great spa

Glass towers, curtains and lighting run from a bedside tablet, and a spa with a salt room and heated stone beds. The most architecturally serious hotel at CityCenter.

The Strip

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas

3752 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$$ · No casino · Sky lobby · Afternoon tea

No casino, no slot noise, just a 23rd-floor sky lobby with tea service and Strip views. Deep-soaking tubs and real quiet. Where you stay when you want Vegas at arm's length.

The Strip

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

3708 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$ · Terrace suites · Chandelier Bar · Design-led

Ask for a wraparound terrace suite and you get a private balcony over the Strip, which almost nobody else offers. The three-storey Chandelier Bar is still the best place here to be seen.

The Strip

Park MGM

3770 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$ · Smoke-free casino · Eataly · Residential feel

The Strip's only fully smoke-free casino resort, done in a warm residential palette with Eataly on the ground floor and Dolby Live upstairs. Good value for how calm it feels.

The Strip

W Las Vegas

3940 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$$ · All suites · Own pool · South Strip

The old Delano tower, reopened under W with bolder colour and its own entrance, pool and lobby bar. All suites, and noticeably quieter than the Mandalay Bay campus it sits on.

Off Strip

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

4455 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas, NV
$$ · Music history · Big pool · Locals crowd

The old Hard Rock rebuilt with red accents, a record-nerd sensibility and rooms with proper dressing areas. Five minutes off the Strip and priced like it, with a mixed local crowd.

Off Strip

The Palms Casino Resort

4321 W Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV
$$ · Art collection · Skyline views · Late nights

Reopened in 2022 with a serious art collection through the public spaces, an unfussy pool, and a west-side view of the entire Strip skyline from the upper floors.

Summerlin

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa

11011 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV
$$ · Canyon views · Big spa · Adult pool

Twenty minutes west of the Strip, facing the red sandstone it is named for. Rooms are large, the spa is one of the best in the valley, and the pool actually has shade.

Downtown

Circa Resort & Casino

8 Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV
$$ · 21 and over · Cigars welcome on the casino floor · Legacy Club rooftop

Adults only, top to bottom. Cigars are welcome across the casino floor and at Legacy Club on 60, where you sit with a drink, a fire pit and the whole valley below you.

Downtown

Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino

206 N 3rd St, Las Vegas, NV
$ · Rooftop pool deck · Quiet block · Good value

One block off Fremont, which is the whole point. Gallery Tower rooms are clean and current, and the third-floor pool deck with its citrus trees is the calmest spot downtown.

Downtown

Golden Nugget Las Vegas

129 E Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV
$$ · Shark tank pool · Chart House · Downtown landmark

The grande dame of Fremont Street, and the Rush Tower rooms hold up. There is a 200,000-gallon shark tank in the middle of the pool, which you either love or simply ignore.

Arts District

The ENGLiSH Hotel

921 S Main St, Las Vegas, NV
$$ · 74 rooms · Rooftop pool · Walkable

Seventy-four rooms above a Todd English kitchen, in the middle of the Arts District murals and vinyl shops. Rooftop pool, no casino, and the most walkable address in Las Vegas.
